May 2005, chatting about Star Wars premiere.V for Vendetta rocks! I wanted to tell others about this phenomenal work, just like Shaun did to me. I planned to get it for Len's birthday last July, but couldn't find it in Borders. Right now there are no copies in Borders and MPH. Only Kinokuniya seems to carry it. Hope it will not be sold out before I get a chance to get it for Tjin's birthday. After reading the graphic novel, I was SO looking forward to the movie. I jumped at the chance to catch one of the very first screenings earlier today. IT ROCKS! It may be a little cerebral but that's the beauty of it. It reminds me of 70s or 80s cult hits. And I hope many people will see it with an open mind and come to appreciate the awesomeness of this version. Other than the inevitable changes when adaptating to film, it was very faithful to the novel. It helps to read the novel before or after watching the film, not only to grasp the subtleties but also to clear any doubts about the plot. But on the whole, it is a great movie experience. England Prevails! *crazed laughter* 0 Comments:
