Cinema ticket prices going up in May

ST (p 4) and ZB (p 3) said Shaw, Eng Wah and Golden Village cinemas will be increasing their ticket prices from 1 May. The weekday prices will be raised by 50 cents and the weekend prices by $1. The three cinema operators said the price hikes will help to cover increased utility costs. ST and ZB noted that Overseas Movies and Cathay organization have not increased their prices.

Got that in my daily news excerpts email.
$9.50 for a movie? $%^#!*(^%#$!

Keemin once said that dating a teacher was hot. I think I finally understand the appeal. Now that my friend has started teaching, I'm seeing him with new eyes.

More Balian
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Just when I thought today would be Bana-day (see knees below), along comes Balian, wanting to join the party.
Not that I'm complaining much. *grins*

OMG! That is one long sword!

Image hosted by Photobucket.comI worship the ground David Wenham walks on! When he's had a proper bath, I'd like to bear his offspring.

Yesterday I saw lovely Faramir Image hosted by Photobucket.com in AFF's Gettin' Square. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
No wonder he won Best Actor for this roleImage hosted by Photobucket.com, he has fantastic comic timing!Image hosted by Photobucket.com

So far, all the non-LOTR movies I've seen him in have been comedies. I can't wait to explore the dramas. I know they're out there, somewhere!

nice jeans *smirk*

Pearly said she wanted to make my blog her homepage for the week. Pressure!!! And wouldn't you know it, I neither had the time nor the materials to make the blog Pearly-worthy. But I hope the above goes a little way to make her happy.

What I do remember from the Oscars:

The opening montage had Liam Neeson, Sean Bean, Johnny Depp and Legolas. (The first 3 all worked with OB.)

The costume award's clip showed Hector striding purposefully in bronze armour. yum.

Siblings Maggie (from Secretary) and Jake Gyllenhaal were seated in the front row (albeit near the corner). Jake was sporting his Jarhead crewcut. What is Jarhead? Potentially the BHD of 2006.

What I don't remember from the Oscars:

OB and his Elizabethtown co-star Kirsten Dunst presenting an award.

Why? Cos I couldn't even look at the screen! The moment he walked on I dissolved into manic giggling. Thankfully both Pei Ee and Pearly sms-ed me right then, so I got distracted. After I was done with them, I could still see OB at the edge of the screen and I began to giggle again. OMG! I'm acting like a 12-yr-old fangirl! *hangs head in shame*
