Part 2 of my resignation occurred yesterday evening at Anchorpoint's Haagen-Dazs.
The people I've told the full story of Part 1 said it sounded like I was breaking up with my boyfriend. Well, for those people, I hope it pleases you to note that Part 2 was more rational and less emotional. For instance, on Wed we said: Me: Why is it so hard for you to let me go? He: Because I like working with you, and I like you... Me: I like you too! Yesterday we said: He: I can get a replacement to do your job, but I can't replace you. Me: Ok... Anyways, we hammered out the details of my notice period, which will end on 15th May. Boss says I'm free to go then, but he would appreciate it if I could stay a little while after that. "Anything after May 15th would be a bonus," said he. Boss was absolutely amazing about it all. On the way back we discussed my career options and he even gave me interview tips! Wow! His behaviour as a parting-with-a-confidential-secretary Boss is exactly similar to my behaviour as a jilted girlfriend. (I sometimes advise my Ex on how to patch things up with his new gf). It's no wonder then that we get along so well. We're wired the same way. I'm absolutely going to miss it here. But I know that it's a necessary evil. We all have to MOVE ON. So, thanks and goodbye! ![]() 0 Comments:
