The phone kept ringing, but I had a rule about not answering calls after 9pm, so I just ignored it. And then a few minutes later, the doorbell rang. And there she was, my potential replacement. She was wearing a dark brown leather skirt and a mock trenchcoat. She looked so chic and classy especially with her new glasses.

We talked for an hour about the company and her responsibilities. I hope I said the right things. I would hate it if she decided not to take up the job because of something I said.

I really, really need her here. Without a substitute, I can't leave this job.

I've been having a really hard time finding new staff. They are either uncontactable, or just don't turn up for interviews. And of those that actually turn up, very few make the grade. As for the ones who get hired, the don't stay very long. Oh, we are sooooo having HR problems in this company...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hope she joins us and stays. Then I can finally move on to better things.
