Athena was the official 'protector' of my secondary school. We had a life-sized statue of her surrounded by a pond/fountain thingy next to one of our main gates. As each of us filed into school, we would look upon her and were supposed to be 'inspired' by her wisdom, etc...

Our greek-mania even extended to our school song, which opened with: "From High Olympus flows to us the glory/ On us the sacred fire descends...".
