We had a flash flood in the office today.

In the beginning, everything was calm.

Then it started to rain... really torrentially...

The torrential rain was just too much for the drainage system to handle and the sidewalk started flooding. You can just see a small rivulet entering my ground floor office:

And it kept on coming...

So, what did we do? We rallied together and got all our stuff to higher ground:

Then... we basically stood around and let the manual workers deal with it:

My neighbours in front and to the sides of me got wet, but my cubicle remained dry. Phew. Thank God!

Meanwhile, we took photos! :P

Shaun & Lesley - refugees from "Hurricane Armenia":

Me & Shaun conspiring:

Aftermath:

The garden path outside also suffered a smilar fate:

But the worst damage happened to the unit next door, which had CARPETED floors:

Today was photo-taking day! Following the successful photoshoot yesterday, I was asked to take more pictures.

Here are my 2 work buddies, Lesley and Shaun:

More photos of them:

It's Viggo's 47th birthday. Yes, Pearly, I really DO perv over OLD men!

Tried to find 10 old favourites from my archives. Was quite difficult to narrow it down, but here goes:

Have to start with Strider

Filthy Human

His gorgeous face

Those eyes!

Love him when he's all clean...

Love him when he's all dark.

He looks damn good lying down

This one takes the cake.

*having difficulty breathing*

There are so many great pictures of Viggo! Quite a few should have been here but I forced myself to stop. Here's an excellent birthday pic spam though, with great comments too!

Shaun's been very sweet, sensitive and supportive today.

So I'm gonna give him free publicity.

Everyone, look at how big his muscles are.

This is just so cool!

10th Planet Has A Moon
Excerpt:
"Since the day we discovered Xena, the big question has been whether or not it has a moon," Michael Brown, of the California Institute of Technology, said in a statement.

"Having a moon is just inherently cool -- and it is something that most self-respecting planets have, so it is good to see that this one does too."

And the moon is called... Gabrielle!!!! Hahahaha!

Check out this funny Blogcritics article:
Excerpt:
Forget naming planets after mythological gods and goddesses. Now we're mining pop culture.

Personally, I think that the names we have for them say a lot about our culture. Planets (with the obvious exception of our own Earth) have always been named for legendary figures. Xena and Gabrielle certainly fit the bill there. No matter what, I think we'll end up calling the planet Xena, and the moon Gabrielle, to the eternal consternation of professional astronomers.

Rockstar Birthday Party (Pt 1)

We FINALLY celebrated Pei Ee's birthday last Saturday with a feast at our regular haunt, Giovanni's, followed by games at Settlers cafe.

After ONE glass of a rather sweet and mild appertif (Ruffino Rose Wine, 12% proof) Pei Ee started to get lobster red. She was pretty much tipsy (drunk?) the rest of the night. By the time we parted, she started complaining about having a hangover headache. BUT! She did say it was the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!

Fast forward to Monday, and the SMSes to the other celebrants:

Me to Keemin:
I've got sore throat. Does Li-Sa have one too? Ah, the price for over-indulgence.

Keemin to me:
Yeah, she does... Me too, actually... Still recovering from the shocking bill as well. Hahaha. Six hundred bucks was quite hefty. Mostly the wine, I bet. Good wine, though.

Me to Pearly:
Keemin, Li-sa and I all got sore throats. How are you and Man doing?

Pearly to me:
Haha we ok. Cept when we reached home on sat we had e really fiery crapping sesion. Man said he felt like he crapped fire breathing dragon outta his ass

Me to Pearly:
Haha! Ouch! Eh, i cannot laugh now...throat hurts. We need to feedback and say his alcohol damn powerful. Wonder how d oois are...

Pearly to me:
Haha that coupled with e food n shouting at settlers. If history is anything to go by, tjin shd have had e crap(s) of his life too hehe

Oh dear! Hope Tjin and Pei Ee got it outta their systems (literally) before their flight this morning. Would suck to spend your entire vacation in the bathroom.

The best celebrations are those where you feel like utter crap the next day!

EDIT:
Ripped this picture from Li-Sa's blog. It's a really great job she did with the original photos!
