Mig's married? Dayum! I actually felt bad about perving over him but then I remembered Dave's married and so is Bana. Oh well, let the perving continue!

Alas, Mig doesn't seem to be allergic to shirts anymore! Sigh. Here's a pic, for old time's sake:

By the way, Simi, his wife, is one hot babe. Pity this picture doesn't do her justice. Mig's reaction at seeing her was priceless. He literally JUMPED her. Hahaha! SO sweet.

My colleagues and I went on a fieldtrip to Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research and Museums, NUS CFA today. While most of you reading this came from NUS, I'm betting almost nobody has heard of both museums. That's just a sad reality that my boss is trying to change. His ultimate aim is to make museums household names and museum-going a preferred lifestyle activity. Well, given time and money, anything is possible... Good luck, mate!

I must mention, that there are 4 OSIM massage chairs at the Museum, NUS CFA. It's on a 6-month loan, so go there while stocks last! ;) It's a free ride and offers a good time. Very clever marketing idea!

After the visits, we went for lunch at Munchie Monkey cafe at Yusof Ishak House. Its a cafe completely run by NUS undergrads, and it shows. The food was abyssmal but luckily the desserts (chocolate brownie and warm chocolate cake) made up for it.

Dunno if its choc overdose, heat exhaustion or just lack of sleep but I've got a headache. Wondering if I can skip all meetings and just head straight home?

I padded over merrily and cheerfully said, "Hey, you should be happy to note that people are actually wearing your SWC t-shirt!"

"I kill you, Amy!" he mumbled.

"Hey!" I protested, ready to explain that all I meant was that people found his T-shirt design good enough to wear. But I didn't get a chance to, as he flashed me a WMD-grade killer smirk, which stopped me dead in my tracks.

With one curl of his lips he telegraphed "Just teasing. You are so p0wned! Hah!" But it was such a bad-assed grin, my brain short-circuited for a moment. And oh, it got really warm all of a sudden.

NOT GOOD!

Shaun acts like a jackass most of the time cos he's hiding his true sensitive side. But once in a while, his inner goodness just can't help but shine true. See wat he just posted on his blog (edited for length) - it made me all teary-eyed. Shaun you sweet bastard!

Thursday, August 18, 2005

So after bungling up a major presentation where my company's CEO was in attendence, she so lovingly came to my office after work to offer consolation in the form of satay from Lau Pa Sat. She rocks!

We proceeded to Clarke Quay and had our mini-feast, seated on the breakwater, overlooking the Singapore River. Which brought me back to the days when we used to spend entire Saturdays at the beach, enjoying the breeze and just talking abt anything under the sun. That was when life was simpler and we were much younger.

Times have changed, many things aren't the same, but our love remains.

i hope this vindicates him for the snookums incident

And Shaun Sayeth Unto Amy...

Today:
You have this serene smile. It's frightening. Makes me wonder what sort of evil is brewing underneath.

Shaun challenges my recollection and insists that he said: "When you smile sweetly, people sort of wonder what evil's brewing under that serene facade!" I stick to MY version.

Yesterday:
Am I such a snookums today or what?

I need to explain the last one. Yesterday Shaun was kind enough to help out with the preparations for the pain-in-the-neck MR meeting. He even volunteered "to stay with you (i.e. me) all the way" even though that entailed him running around collecting stuff and carrying heavy things. He showed initiative in setting up the refreshments area as well as clearing up afterwards. In short, he was a real sweetie - or in his words: a snookums.

The price I had to pay for his help was a boxful of chocolate muffins and chicken pies. (Which I specifically kept aside from the main refreshments area, just for him.) Plus, of course, constantly answering "Yes, Shaun, you were a snookums. You were very sweet and kind".

I love love love ROCKSTAR INXS!

It's such a fun show! Or it rather, it remains a fun show while my favourites are in the running. I'll miss them when they're gone.

Anyone who needs a birthday gift idea can download songs from the site. BIG HINT.

Here's a couple of reasons why the show is fun to watch:

I have found god nNirvana.
K, I'm only like a decade late. But hey, good music trancends time.

I can't believe my birthday was only last week - it seems so long ago! Monday, I worked late to clear my tasks, Tues was the public holiday and Wed I took leave. Thurs and Fri were blissful work-days cos the Boss was away. Then a relaxing weekend followed. It feels longer than seven days. But here we are again. Sigh. I hate Mondays.

And today was a bitch of a Monday. Got well and truly roasted by the Boss and even my Manager got in on the action. And to top it all off, my ex just told me he's in love. Sigh. Kick me when I'm down why don't you? *cries*

Shaun says today Mary goes to heaven i.e. its the Assumption. How nice for her. Er, didn't mean to sound so bitter...

I've been mentioning Shaun, my best pal at NHB, a couple of times in this blog. Think it's time you all met him. I figure if he's not-shy enough to post these pictures, then he won't mind me spreading them around.

Frens, I give you Shaun:

Yesterday, Shaun said: "When you shoved that spoon of fudge in my face, you really personified Death By Chocolate!"

Hahahaha! *cue scary green lighting effect* All shall look upon me and despair!

Here's a quote from his blog about our shenanigans:

Death By Chocolate

Emicakes brought me to Swensen's today cos her birthday went by on Tues, National day.

For the first time in my life, I downed two chocolate themed sundaes in one go!

Sticky Chewy Chocolate and Chocolate Crunchy Something.

When taking our order, the sneaky gammy staff gave us a suspicious look cos we were having 3 sundaes between two people. Hey it was $4 on weekdays, so be bloody happy we were putting some money in the coffers right? Motard.

I almost died from the cocoa and sugar rush and nearly hurled in the restaurant.

I was so bloody high after the whole affair I couldn't speak in complete sentences.

Emicakes was delirious too and it was a wonder how we made our way back to the office.
