ignore me while i rant...

a mild example of our everyday banter:-
He: Did he come back today?
Me: No. Why does everyone ask me dat? Isn't he on leave til tmr?
He: Why u so angry w me? I'm hurt.
Me: Dun take it personally... How's your course?
He: I'm too hurt that my fave colleague scolded me to concentrate.
Me: Dun sulk... Nobody was scolding you.. Now concentrate on wat d nice man is trying to teach you.
He: I hate you! You were the chosen one! I loved u like a brother!
Me: HahaHaha!

Wa lau eh! I really dunno how to respond when he's petulant. At least when E is acting up, I know he's just looking for affection. But I can't do that here!!!

I instinctively react nicely... until he makes my blood boil. Then I start trading insults. And fine, it's supposed to be in good fun. He's just teasing. But I swear sometimes he just INFURIATES me!!!

Seasons of Love

1846 - Henry Murger publishes a series of character sketches romanticizing the Bohemian life, in Italian literary magazine "Corsaire".

1849 - Murger and Theodore Barriere co-author a stage play: "La Vie de Boheme", based on these sketches. The play was a sensation.

1851 - Murger compiles these sketches into a novel: "Scenes de la Vie de Boheme".

1896 - Debut of Puccini's opera: "La Boheme". Although the opera was inspried by the novel, for copyright reasons he had to claim that his inspiration was the play. "La Boheme" has some of the world's most beloved opera music.

1993 - Baz Lurhman directs an Australian Opera production of "La Boheme". His version sets the opera in 1957 Paris. This performance was subsequently recorded and sold in DVD format. Reviews laud it as one of the best productions of "La Boheme".

1996 - Jonathan Larson's rock musical "Rent" premiered on the 100th aniversary of "La Boheme" - by fluke! This musical updating of Puccini's opera became one of the biggest things on Broadway.

1997 - Len buys a 2-CD original cast recording of "Rent" at a discount and tells Amy about it while at VJC.

2001 - SRT stages "Rent" at the Kallang Theatre. The role of Benny is played by Brendon Fernandez, VJC alumnus. Among the audience was Angeline, Yanshan and Amy. All of them were so in love with the show that "Rent" songs were on heavy rotation on their laptop mp3 playlist. Amy blasts Len's CD daily on the Geog Soc hi-fi, until Tjin began to complain.

2002 - Baz brings his "La Boheme" to Broadway, NY. Len watches one of the very first performances.

2004 - Amy finally finds the original cast recording of "Rent" for sale in Singapore. Len buys it for her birthday present.

2005 - The 1993 version of "La Boheme" is screened as part of the Baz Luhrmann Retrospective. Inspired by the performance, Amy starts to play her "Rent" CD non-stop and starts her research.

Currently feel accomplished, as I've managed to link to my long defunct Archives. Through trial and error I've even managed to format it into a drop down menu. Yay!

Glancing at the odd old post, I've realised that my blog now SUCKS! Gosh, who was that person who's been posting these past months? Was that really me? *embarassed*

Rose quartz pendant, white gold orchids on a silver chain.
Trying to decide whether to buy this or not.
Its about $72 after 15% discount from Risis.
I don't even wear jewellery, but this is so pretty!
*thinks*

Edit: My fashionista Supervisor thinks that it's common and more suited to elderly ladies. So, I'll defer to her wisdom and not buy it.

Today (in the Western world) is Jasan Isaac's birthday. Him from Harry Potter and Black Hawk Down. Lucius Malfoy and CPT! Steele. *swoon*
He's one of those actors who pop up everywhere from Highlander to West Wing, Dragonheart to Armageddon. And now I discover that he's in Divorcing Jack - I've just read the book the movie was adapted from!

I will try to pass this dreary work afternoon by thinking about his icy blue eyes. And his boots. *cough*
