You ain't seen Ep3 til you see it in a digital cinema! Really, it makes a difference. My colleague sent me an email about the movie, and it's more entertaining than anything I could've written. So I'm reproducing it rather than my own review. Plus, here's his website if you prefer pictures to words. :) Email: I actually felt sad when the opening crawl came on, as i was witness the last movie in the saga. Getting to watch it two days before 95% of the population did cheer me up a bit though. Two hands. (damnit, need to reshoot my toy photos) One head. One right arm. One left arm. Two legs. Like the rest of the movies, my personal highlights are the lightsaber battles. So yes, again it was just waiting for the lightsaber battles between long drawn scenes. Loved how Anakin owned Dooku. Off with his hands, then off with his head. This celebration of graphic violence rocked my boat. Obi Wan and grievious. Grievious is a fricking tuberculosis-suffering rastafari! C'mon what's with the accent. You half expect him to say, "Want to see my four sabers, mon?" The fight scene with Obi Wan was slightly entertaining with him twirling his sabers all over the place, and still getting hands cut off in the process. (note to figure collectors, the basic figure is the accurate duel one. Grievous does not engage all four arms when cloaked) The palpatine arrest scene had all the jedis except mace look like lameasses. They all fell from one single strike. Kit Fisto did not get his head cut off, much to my dismay. It was cool seeing mace and palpatine duel, and palpatine getting disfigured by force lightning. Love how Anakin and Palpy did a two hit combo on Mace. Anakin chops off Mace's hand, Palpy follows up with force lightning. Anakin seemed less whiny, but still came across as a spoilt brat. You feel like slapping him when he says lines like. "Its not fair!" Yoda and palpy seemed too much like Dooku and yoda from EP2 to me. If I'm not wrong, part of the scene had both actors digitised, where the senate chair they were duelling in was rising up. Oh yah. the part where Yoda enters the room and with a flick of his wrist, takes out two red guards rocks. The jedi kena wiped out damned nice. Fracticide never looked so good! Aalya should have had more air time damnit! I like the confrontation between Obi Wan and Anakin on Mustafar. the tension was palpable while they were shopping for shower foam together in the middle of the night. Frankly their duel on mustafar could've done with Super Mario Bros music in the background. They were jumping everywhere and I was half expecting powered-up mushrooms to pop out from walls they damaged during their duel. The lightsaber battles seemed exceptionally fast to me this time round. Not as stylised as the previous movies. I loved the dismemberment scenes and anakin getting his legs chopped off, then getting burnt by the lava. Oh the glee! (thumbs up smiley) The part when he thinks he killed Leia then screams "Nooooooo!" damn drama, with him clenching his fist and rotating his torso around. The highlight of the experience was actually watching it with my gf. I felt I had indeed come full circle. From she hating collecting as a hobby I had when we first got together in 1999 (EP1), here she was now watching EP3 with me, a good six years later. As good as Empire? I'd give it a Moderate Maybe. The best movie in the prequels? Most definitely, George could've just skipped EP1 and 2 and shown this. 0 comments ![]()

Do we need another museum? In a two-page article with the headline 'Museums, Ad Nauseum?' , Weekend TODAY (30 Apr - 1 May, p 1-2) examines the question of whether we need another museum in Singapore and this refers to eventual conversion of City Hall and Supreme Court into an art gallery. In TODAY's museum survey, most Singaporeans believe that there are only five or less museums here when there are in fact 25 museums. Coupled with falling museum attendances for the past three years, TODAY asked whether we want another museum in Singapore. From the survey, TODAY noted that most respondents would want to preserve the heritage of the two buildings and not turn them into a commercial project like Fullerton Hotel. It added that life has to be injected into the new art gallery through cafes and eateries. TODAY also gathered some feedback from the arts community and they felt that the current 25 museums and heritage centres should not preclude the opening of more such establishments. CEO/NHB said there is a need to accommodate varied needs and interests of Singaporeans as they become more well-travelled and sophisticated in their tastes. Noting the success of NHB's Project M, TODAY concluded that increasing awareness and appreciation for the museums is much more important than the question of numbers. 0 comments ![]()
